Kerrick Cavanaugh

Senior computer science and electrical engineering student at the University of Florida. My relevant experience through internships, research projects, and university employment (teacher assistant) has gifted me (1) the analytical and technical skills to tackle problems efficiently, (2) the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within any team. Through my internships, research positions, and professional experience, I have gained experience with NodeJS, C++, Python, DICOM image processing, ReactJS, JavaScript, Docker, Cloud, HPC, Agile development, CI/CD, and Linux. Although, I can adapt my knowledge and experience to any task given to me. Assisted development of a web interface for a machine learning algorithm that processes medical images and produces a parkinsonism diagnosis.
This application/interface is shared by 21 universities nationally.
Developed a front-end client application for collecting clinical data in the form of interactive medical forms.
Collected and visualized medical images in DICOM format.
Development of automated de-identification processes, interactive visualization of the metadata as well as the pixel data included in the DICOM files.
Interfaced the machine learning and imaging pipeline with the client app.
DICOM medical image compression/decompression.
Shell script/Python Imaging pipeline for aligning DICOM images for machine learning pipeline.
Containerized the application for production, distribution, and cloud deployment with Docker.

Used MongoDB, NodeJS, and Python to develop a cloud application framework for use in automated regressions.
Utilized a microservice-based architecture to create a REST API with exposed endpoints for calling individual services.
Secured endpoints with JWT and internal role-based access.
